Your first vibrator

If you are new to the world of vibrators there are many fantastic options available to you, but being unfamiliar with what is available can mean that it becomes difficult to even know where to start.

A good option for women who have never experienced the wonders of vibration before is a bullet style vibrator. These consist of a small, roughly thumb sized bullet (generally made of hard plastic or silicone) that attaches to a control unit with a length of wire approximately 40-50cm long.

Bullet vibrators are designed to directly stimulate the clitoris and are simple to control. Most models have a dial that operates the toy using variable speeds. Bullet vibrators generally don’t have pulsation modes but with clever use of your thumb you can pulsate the toy by quickly turning the speed up and down.

Remember that a constant vibration will feel very different to a vibration that pulsates and will have a different reaction with your body.

Lelo Vibrators

Lelo make great toys for beginners, more compact and quieter than most other brands of vibrators means they are discreet and not at all overwhelming. Their clitoral stimulators have more advanced features than the bullets stated above and are very easy to operate.

Lelo vibrators have a few different pulsation modes programmed into them which are fun to experiment with. What makes them really good is that you can adjust the intensity of the vibration for each pulsation setting (not all vibrators do this and pulsation modes on some toys can be too strong if you are not used to the sensation).

The Siri & Gigi Vibrator

The Siri is a great beginner model for external clitoral stimulation, and the Gigi is a slim internal vibrator perfect for women who wish to also experiment with internal vaginal stimulation as well.

Chatting to close friends about vibrators can be helpful sometimes. But remember that all women are different and will require different kinds of stimulation to orgasm.

So, what may work for your friend may not be appropriate for you. Also, if you are new to vibrators be patient. You may not orgasm the first time you use one but the more you play the more familiar you will become with your body’s response. Above all else, have fun!
